Unsolicited Press Invites You to a Virtual Fall Reading with Esteemed West Coast Authors

PORTLAND, OR; October 2, 2021 — Unsolicited Press, a Portland-based small press, invites you to attend a virtual reading featuring Anne Leigh Parrish and Terry Tierney. Parrish and Tierney, two west coast authors, will read selections from their favorite poetry and fiction publications. After the readings, the two authors will discuss their inspirations, how they balance writing fiction and poetry, and any other impromptu conversation thread that comes into the informal discussion.

Unsolicited Press has had the privilege of publishing (or is in the process of publishing) fiction and poetry books from Anne Leigh Parrish and Terry Tierney. Parrish began her relationship with Unsolicited Press through fiction, while Tierney did so with poetry. The two are now set to release books of different genres in 2021: Anne Leigh Parrish will release the moon won’t be dared, a poetry collection, in October 2021; Terry Tierney will release Lucky Ride, a novel, in December 2021.

Terry Tierney is a writer who hails from the Midwest, but has planted roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. After serving in the Seabees, he completed his BA and MA at Binghamton University; Tierney completed a PhD in Victorian Literature at Emory University. For years, he taught college composition and creative writing courses, and survived several Silicon Valley startups as a software engineer. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Michaelyn Burnette, a Librarian from the University of California, their son, and their goofy Golden Retriever. Tierney’s work has appeared in countless publications. His poetry collection The Poet’s Garage was published in 2020. Lucky Ride, an irreverent Vietnam-era road novel, is set to release in 2021. More can be learned at http://terrytierney.com.
